Jean Hollingsworth

Jean Hollingsworth of Porterdale, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020, at the age of 88. Ms. Hollingsworth was a faithful member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, where she was very active before becoming ill. One of the things she enjoyed most was showering those she loved with gifts; especially her homemade divinity. After many dedicated years, Ms. Hollingsworth retired from Crawford W. Long Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and church family and will be missed by all who knew her. Ms. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by her parents, W.M. and Ella Mae Hollingsworth; sisters, Nan Franklin, Bearnice Mathis; brothers-in-law, Ellis Adams, Howard Mathis.

Survivors include her sister, Helen Adams; nieces, Lynn Lajzer, Teresa Higginbotham, Shelley Hawley, Natalie Reece; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Service for Ms. Hollingsworth will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Roger Cato and Mr. Bill Norton officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Saturday, February 8, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3 Cotton Street, Porterdale, Georgia 30014.
