Jerald McClure, Sr., of Covington, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the age of 83. Mr. McClure enjoyed NASCAR on Sundays and breakfast at Bojangles. He liked to shoot the breeze at Carter Johnson Barber Shop and made many friends at the hospital gym after his heart surgery. Mr. McClure missed his wife, Ellen, after her passing in 2017, loved his family and his dog, Soccer, and enjoyed a special friendship with his neighbors, Tammy and Wayne Rogers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lender Ellen McClure; parents, Malvern Sanders and Mary Frances McClure; sister, Sally Mobley; and brother, Tony McClure.
Survivors include his daughters, Mary Knight (Shane), Robin Aiken (Scott); son, Jerald McClure, Jr., grandchildren, Scotty Aiken, Mitchell Aiken (Elise), Jantzen Knight (Hannah), Jaeger Knight; great-grandchildren, Chandler Aiken, Jasper Aiken, Maverick Aiken, Norah June Knight; sister-in-law, Susan McClure; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Graveside Service for Mr. McClure will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, 3:00 P.M., at Covington Mill Cemetery, Mill Street, in Covington, with Pastor Royeese Stowe officiating.
