Jerry Odean Mcleroy

Jerry Odean McLeroy passed away April 20, 2014, at his home in Covington. He was 84 years of age at the time of his death. Mr. McLeroy loved spending time with his great-grandchildren, and especially enjoyed vacationing with them. He had 35 years of service with Lithonia Lighting. He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaRue McLeroy; granddaughter, Tava Martin; and parents, Dick and Eva McLeroy.

Survivors include his wife, Irene "René" McLeroy; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Shepherd, Toni and Ricky Weathington, Tonya and Dave Smith; son, James Toby Sammons, all of Covington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. McLeroy will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with his great-nephew, Brian Elrod, officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, April 25, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you spend time making special memories with your grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
