Jessie Martin Wade of Mansfield, passed away February 10, 2014, at the age of 83. Mrs. Wade attended Covington First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. She retired, from C.R. Bard, after 24 years of dedicated employment. In addition to her being an avid artist and gardener, she loved animals and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis Wade, Sr.; daughter, Jane Elizabeth McIntosh; son, John Ellis Wade, Jr.; grandson, Jason Wade; parents, Elbert and Annie (Culberson) Martin; and six of her siblings.
Survivors include her loving grandchildren, Jody Lee of Snellville, Jonathan Lee of Lawrenceville, Niki and Shane Waddleton of Monticello; great-grandchildren, Jazmine Lee, Jackson Waddleton, Maddie Waddleton; brother, John Thomas Martin of Talladega, AL; and her extended family in Alabama.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wade will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014, 11:00 AM, at the First United Methodist Church, in Covington, with Rev. Dr. Douglas Gilreath and Rev. Jan McCoy officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
