Jesslyn Anne Lecoq Shirah

Access RoadJesslyn Anne LeCoq Shirah of Covington, passed away March 20, 2010, at the age of 75. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, in Covington. Mrs. Shirah retired from Newton Medical Center in 1988, after 18 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandbabies. Mrs. Shirah was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Eunice Beauvais LeCoq.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, D.O. Shirah of Covington; children, Mark and Nikki Shirah of Covington, Angela and Randy Brown of Madison, Mike and Cindy Shirah, Chip and Tamela Shirah, all of Covington; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Leslie LeCoq, Larry and Dorothy LeCoq, all of Morganza, LA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirah will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010, 2 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd., with Pastor Robert L. Raynor and Bob Denckhoff officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, March 22, from 6-8 PM.
