Jimmie Ruth Holmes

Jimmie Ruth Holmes, of Covington, passed away September 28, 2018, at the age of 84. Mrs. Holmes attended Red Oak United Methodist Church. She retired as a dedicated paraprofessional from E.L. Ficquett Elementary School. Mrs. Holmes enjoyed reading romance novels and watching hummingbirds. Her favorite movie was "Gone with The Wind". She will be remembered as a loving sister and dedicated mother and daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Oscar L. Holmes; parents, James Aldean and Lillian (Day) Chandler; as well as her sister, Betty Harper Chandler.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tamara Holmes; and brother, Anthony Chandler.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Holmes will be held Sunday, September 30, 2:00 P.M., in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating. Friends may visit with the family Saturday, September 29, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
