Jimmy Day of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the age of 73. Mr. Day attended Loganville Church of Christ where he led the congregation in song. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Gloria, to Hawaii, going to the beach and mountains and cruising. A great provider for his family, Mr. Day loved and enjoyed spending time with them - especially hunting and fishing with his sons. He was a huge Alabama fan, enjoyed telling jokes and picking on others, and gave the best hugs. Mr. Day was preceded in death by his son, Roger Dale Day; granddaughter, Brianna Day; parents, Jimmie Lee and Mollie Bell (Chavers) Day.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gloria Day; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Tracy Day, Chris E. and Connie Day, Donovan and Paige Day; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Sue Roberts, Dorothy and Billy Bennett, Molly and Tom Jones, Patsy and Titus Willingham, Virginia Hill; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Ray and Glenda Day, James E. and Becky Day; grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Day, Sydney Day, Carter Day, Paisley Day; great-grandchild, Olivia Kate New; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Day will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Allen officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Friday, October 11, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Interment will be held Sunday, October 13, 2:00 P.M. CST in Casey Church of Christ Cemetery, 209 County Road 465 in Tyler, AL 36701.
