Jimmy Ray Payne

Jimmy Ray Payne of Covington, passed away September 10, 2013, at the age of 79. Mr. Payne was born, in Porterdale, to the late Ardell and Eva (Jones) Payne. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gussie Lou (Ivy) Payne; and his brother, Ardell Payne, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Berthalene (Vaughn) Payne; children and their spouses, Rhonda Lynn Wilkerson, Susan and Dennis Cheek, Jimmy Gus and Angelena Payne, Marty Ray Payne, Joy and Jim Brady, David and Denise Allen; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Lamar and Barbara Payne; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends he considered family.

Funeral Services for Mr. Payne will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Voice of Pentecost, 4648 Salem Road, in Covington, with Pastor Gavin Moon officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Wednesday, September 11, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
