Joann Eaton

Joann Eaton, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at the age of 72. Mrs. Eaton loved traveling to the mountains, especially Cherokee, North Carolina. She had the biggest heart and enjoyed taking care of all the kids in the neighborhood. Mrs. Eaton was selfless and always took care of others first. She never met a stranger, was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed shopping. Mrs. Eaton was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Baker; father, James Charles Bowman; mother, Dora Mae Ruff; sister, Carolyn Hughes; and brothers, Johnny Bowman, Jimmy Bowman, Charles Bowman.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Marvin Eaton, Sr.; daughter, Katrina Lankford (Phillip); sons, Frankie Eaton, Jason Eaton; son-in-law, Tony Baker; grandchildren, Aimee Moore (Scott), Taylor Bonner (Jamaric), Andrew Baker, Layla Lankford, Lacey Lankford, Anna Lankford; great-grandchildren, Marius, JoJo, Quin; sisters, Judy Davidson (Larry), Joyce Arnett; and brother, Jerry Bowman (Brenda).

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Eaton will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Joe Pritchard officiating, and interment following in Liberty Cemetery, in Porterdale. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, prior to her service, from 12 Noon – 3:00 P.M.
