John Adair, age 69, of Covington, passed away August 17, 2018. Mr. Adair, a proud veteran of the United States Army, was retired from both Hercules and C & D Battery. He loved being outdoors - fishing, golfing, or working in his garden, but his greatest passion was cooking and grilling. Mr. Adair also enjoyed spending time with family and taking trips to the mountains. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Virginia (Brown) Adair.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 47 years, Jackie Adair; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Rodney Durden, all of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Sandra Adair of Mansfield, Jeremy and Rhonda Adair of Covington; grandchildren, Jordon Adair, Justin Adair, Jared Adair, Michael Tamasi, Joshua Tamasi, Alyssa Adair, Leah Adair, Samuel Madaris, Hunter Durden, James Durden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Brent Dantzler of Harleyville, SC, Susan and Robert Pendarvis of Ridgeville, SC; several nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved fur baby, Jazz.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Adair will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Edward Westbrook officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to the service, from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 P.M.
