John Chandler

John Chandler of Oxford passed away December 18, 2015, at the age of 73. Mr. Chandler enjoyed a career for 50 years as a master brick mason. He loved being outdoors going fishing and hunting. An avid NASCAR fan, his favorite driver was "The Intimidator", Dale Earnhardt. Mr. Chandler was a good and kind-hearted man, who dearly loved and cherished his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ann Chandler; sons, Charles Anthony Chandler, James Bruce Barker; mother, Dorothy Louise Clark; father, Hoyt William Chandler.

Survivors include his daughter, Bridgett Coleman of Oxford; sons, Steve Chandler of Augusta, Alan Rutledge of Monroe; sister, Marilyn Lois Young of Decatur; brother, Hoyt Raymond Chandler of Madison; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Chandler will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Lynn Head officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation Tuesday, December 22, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
