John Alonzo Gregory

Access RoadJohn Alonzo Gregory passed away April 18, 2010 at the age of 74 in the comfort of his home.  Born and raised in Essequibo, Guyana South America, he was an esteemed member of the police force for many years. He met and married the former, Aileen Patricia Price.  From this union three children were born: daughters, Sharon Feliciano, Sha'Vaughn McLaughlin, both of Conyers; son, Shaun Gregory of Covington. Mr. Gregory immigrated to Brooklyn, NY with his family in 1970.  He held the position of staff accountant with a prominent New York law firm.  Also, he was in the retail business for a short period of time.    In the early 1990s Mr. Gregory moved to Columbia, SC, prior to settling in the Conyers area in 2005.  He is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Una and Vernon Kilkenny of Flanders, NJ, Isa and Nigel Gill of Bayshore, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law, Reginald and Margarett Gregory of Tampa, FL, Duncan and Desiree Gregory of Coconut Creek, FL; grandchildren, Shatonya Feliciano, Anthony Feliciano, Dequan Gregory, Deyjenay Gregory, Nigel Feliciano, Brandon Gregory, Briana McLaughlin, Rayena McLaughlin, and Alaina McLaughlin. Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Frances (Powell) Gregory. Funeral Services for Mr. Gregory will be held Saturday, April 24, 2010, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with The Rev. Harold Lockett, D. Min officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12-2 PM.
