John Thomas Lazenby

John Thomas Lazenby, 89, of Mansfield died March 12, 2012 at Riverside Healthcare Center in Covington. Mr. Lazenby was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas, Sr. and Fannie Mae (Boyd) Lazenby; brothers, Julius Lazenby, Paul Lazenby; and sister, Susie Eason. He served in the Navy in the Pacific during WW II. He was an auto mechanic who enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening, and carpentry. Mr. Lazenby was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Forest Park and Mansfield.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Frances Waldrop Lazenby of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Roy Allen of Bear Creek, NC; sons, Tommy Lazenby of Atlanta, Jeff Lazenby of Conyers; grandchildren, Katie Williams of Greenville, NC, Jessica Kraft of Cleveland, Joshua Lazenby of Gainesville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Lazenby will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Mansfield Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
