John (Jack) Mcarthur

John (Jack) McArthur, of Conyers, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 78 years of age. Jack was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. For over 50 years, he earned a living as a sales representative for M & A Welding Supply in Atlanta. A man of integrity and dependable in nature, Jack lovingly assumed the role of father when his step-son, Joe, was just a toddler. He led by example and encouraged his son to pursue a career in the welding profession. Jack could fix most anything and would willingly put his skills to good use whenever needed. He took great pride in his mechanical abilities, and not only did he make necessary repairs to his cars, he also implemented changes which made them run more efficiently. Jack was preceded in death by his step-son, Paul Stansell; and parents, Jerome William and Margaret Louise (Dunagan) McArthur.

Those who will miss Jack's presence and hold his memory close, loving wife of 3 years, Peggy McArthur; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Holli Weaver; as well as grandchildren, Josie Weaver, Natalie Weaver, Lacey Stansell, Erin Stansell.

A Funeral Service for Jack will be held Monday, December 23, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Richard Culpepper and Maritza and Jorge Reyes officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to his service, from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
