June 10, 1955 — May 26, 2024

Covington, GA

John Wesley Tomlin Jr of Covington, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, at the age of 68.

John was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Carol Edwards Tomlin, for 41 wonderful years. Together, they created a family that was the center of John's world. He was a cherished father to Ashley Malcom (Daniel), Brooke Tomlin (Ashley), Tiffany Tomlin, and Misty Richards (Tom); and a wonderful grandfather to his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will carry his legacy forward.

John worked for Acuity Brands Lighting for over 42 years. Passionate about the great outdoors, he found solace and excitement in hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Braves, football, NASCAR, and everything Georgia. John’s happiest moments were spent surrounded by his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, who could always bring a smile to his face. The family wants to extend their gratitude to Hillcrest Hospice.
