Johnny (Pedro) Durden of Covington died May 1, 2010, at the age of 53. Fishing was one of his favorite things, but he also enjoyed visiting the stores around the Square and watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball. Johnny often attended Living Waters Church. He is survived by his mother and her fiance, Pearlie Durden and Cecil Freeman; sisters, Joyce Lemonds and Michelle Durden; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Annette Durden, all of Covington; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Johnny Durden, and a sister, Debra Lunsford. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Floyd Street Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, with Rev. Joe Brock and Rev. Barney Johnson, officiating, and interment following at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 3134 Floyd Street Monday, May 3, from 6 to 8 PM, and Tuesday, May 4, from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.
