Jon Alan Knapp

Jon Alan Knapp, of Newborn, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, at the age of 63. Mr. Knapp had a distinguished 15-year career in the Navy, where he served with honor and distinction. He was proud of his service and took great pride in his country. Mr. Knapp was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and tending to his garden. In addition to his love for the outdoors, he was also an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Mr. Knapp was a fan of the Florida Gators football team and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Edna Knapp; and great-nephew, Logan Knapp.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Harper; brother, David Knapp (Kathy); niece, Kristy Kelley (Stevie); nephews, Michael Knapp (June), Chad Knapp (Amy), Kent Harper (June), Brian Harper; great-nieces, Keelie Knapp, Addison Knapp, Olivia Harper, Charlene Tapley, Amanda Tapley; great-nephews, Cody Kelley, Cole Kelley, Ashton Knapp, Joshua Tapley, Zach Harper; as well as 4 great-great-nieces and 7 great-great-nephews.

A Visitation for Mr. Knapp will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 12 Noon – 2:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington.
