Jose Transito Lizama

Jose Transito Lizama, of Covington, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021, at the age of 66. Mr. Lizama was a hardworking man always making sure to take care of his son, Randy. He was always in good spirits, calm, and would help anyone he could. Mr. Lizama was a great cook and enjoyed watching soccer. He will be remembered as the favorite uncle by his family. Mr. Lizama was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Contreras; sister, Milagro Lizama; brother, Jose Francisco Lizama.

Survivors include his son, Randy Lizama; mother, Sebastiana Lizama; granddaughter, Kaleah Lizama; sisters, Maria Ana Gonzalez, Maria Alejandra Gonzalez, Maria Martha Moreno; brothers, Jose Luis Contreras; Jose Rene Lizama, Jose Pedro Contreras; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Lizama will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, 10:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Carlos Guerrero officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, August 20, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Governor Brian Kemp’s latest executive order has eliminated restrictions on large gatherings; however, CDC guidelines recommend social distancing (6 feet apart) and wearing of masks while in public.  Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home requests that you observe these recommendations while in our funeral home attending visitations and/or services.
