Jose A. Godinez Becerra

Jose A. Godinez Becerra, of Covington, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at the age of 54. Mr. Godinez was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a friendly personality and was always sure to let everyone know that they were amazing. Mr. Godinez enjoyed going out to eat and loved his animals, especially his roosters. He was preceded in death by his father, Alberto Godinez.

Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Aurora Vargas-De Godinez; daughters, Aurora Godinez, Jacqueline Godinez (Jovanny); sons, Luis Alfredo Godinez (Karla), Heriberto Godinez (Ana), Jose A. Godinez, Jr. (Wendy), David Godinez; 9 grandchildren; mother, Maria Hernandez Becerra; sisters, Rosa Godinez (Barjas) Carmela Godinez; brothers, Ramon Godinez, Jesus Godinez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass for Mr. Godinez will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, 12 Noon, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 11524 Highway 278, in Covington, with Father Roberto A. Orellana officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family Friday, February 17, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 P.M.
