Joy Hester

Joy Hester, of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the age of 63. Joy loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and tried to raise her children with proper etiquette. Joy never met a stranger, never judged anyone and everyone she met was a friend. She enjoyed looking after her family and was a great housekeeper. Above all, Joy was happiest in the kitchen cooking delicious meals for her family. In addition, she held a special place in her heart for her fur baby, Gunny. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Aubree Burrell and Betty Love Alexander.

Survivors include her husband, Lamar Hester; daughter, Kayla Olivia Crawford (Justin); sons, Joshua Trey Bumgarner, Matthew Jay Bumgarner, Jared Ray Bumgarner, Brent Earl Hester (Katie); grandchildren, Brittany Michele Bumgarner (Devin), Aubree Lynn Bumgarner, Jared Ray Bumgarner, Jr., Ryan Hester, Collin Hester, Stella Hester, Sophia Crawford, Rhiley Crawford; sisters, Jan Tierney, Patty Boswell; as well as various loving family and friends.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Hester will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, 1:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Bobby Simmions officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, one hour prior to her service, from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 P.M.
