Joyce L. Sorrell

Mrs. Joyce L. Sorrell passed away peacefully at her home in Oxford, Thursday, September 8, 2011. She was born in Atlanta, GA on February 24, 1933. She was a member of Oxford Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce enjoyed watching NASCAR, and the Atlanta Braves; she loved hummingbirds, was a wonderful cook, and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Sorrell was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Sorrell, daughter, Evelyn (Lynn) Daniel, and her parents, Leland L. and Elizabeth Lee Milam.
Mrs. Sorrell is survived by her daughter, Carol and Bo Schneider of Oxford; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Glenda Tribble of Conyers; grandchildren, Robert and Niki Barber of Loganville, Craig and Tracey Daniel of Covington, Kim and Tom Williams of Anderson, SC, Chris Daniel of California; great-grandchildren, Dustin and Shannon Brooking, Tyler Daniel, Rory Barber, Kara Daniel, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sorrell will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Oxford Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Posey officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, Friday, September 9, 2011 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
