Julia Mitchell

Julia Mitchell of Covington passed away March 3, 2016, at the age of 76. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Snapping Shoals United Methodist Church. She loved helping people and never met a stranger. Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed spending time with her sister, traveling and going to the beach. In addition, she liked being outside working in her garden. Mrs. Mitchell cherished the time spent with family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Jessie Mae Garrett; brothers, Jerry Garrett, Billy Garrett and Ben Garrett.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Hunt of Destin, FL; sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Rose Mitchell of Covington, Steve Mitchell of Destin, FL; grandson, Lewis Hunt of Covington; great-grandchildren, Shelby Hunt, Faith Hunt, Grayson Hunt, Harley Hunt; sister, Betty Anderson of Covington.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mitchell will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with Pastor Ronnie Compton officiating and interment following in Snapping Shoals United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may join the family for visitation at the funeral home Friday, March 4, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
