June Sears Powell

June Sears Powell of Oxford, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019, at the age of 88. Mrs. Powell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was caring and devoted to her family, always putting others before herself. In Mrs. Powell's earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and gardening. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 31 years, Buddy E. Sears; parents, George and Lillie Ballard.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Winfred F. Powell; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Ronald Garrett, Janie and Mark Hudson, Judy and Rodney Powell; sons and daughters-in-law, Wallace and Donna Sears, Randy Powell, Ricky and Melanie Powell, David and Cherie Powell; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Charles McCord; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Powell will be held Monday, July 1, 2019, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Todd Heil officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, three hours prior to her service, from 12 Noon - 3:00 P.M.
