Juritta Price Allen

Juritta Price Allen, of Covington, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at the age of 95. Mrs. Price was a devoted member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church for over 70 years where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. She loved cooking, sewing, and making all her grandchildren quilts. Mrs. Price always let her family know that they were loved – even if that meant she had to chase you down the driveway as you were. She was a great investigator, read her Bible every day, and didn’t gossip because it was always the truth that she told. Mrs. Price will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Price; second husband, Grady Allen; daughter, Retter Price Bailey; son, Timmy Price; great-granddaughter, Abigail Ogletree; and parents, Otis and Retter Helton.

Survivors include her sons, Randy Price, Gary Price (Sherry); daughters, Gayle Price Walden (Ricky), Tammy Price Holder (Hank); son-in-law, Keith Bailey; daughter-in-law, Kandy Price; grandchildren, Garrick Bailey (Vicki), Greta Bailey Miller (Joel), Carla Price, Sonya Price, Andi Price Reynolds (Bobby), Mandy Price Stewart (Canaan), Joshua Ogletree (Ashlee), Ben Ogletree (Anna), Charity Walden Joiner (Rusty), Brandon Walden (Summer), Shea Price (Kayla), Trea Price (Tiffany); 42 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sharolyn Helton Denning; step-children, Jane Allen (Wayne), Annette Allen Todd, Laverne Allen Johnson (Donnie), Steve Allen (Lorraine), Mark Allen, Chuck Allen; as well as many other loving family members.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Price will be held Monday, October 31, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, 3 Cotton Street, in Porterdale, with Rev. Rick Walden, Ben Ogletree, Rev. Roger Cato and Bill Norton officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, October 30, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access road, in Covington. Pallbearers, Garrick, Ben, Josh, Brandon, Shea, and Trea.
