It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Eathen Burkiett, who passed on January 22, 2025, at the age of 54. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Mr. Burkiett was a man whose larger-than-life personality and unwavering love for his family will be forever remembered.
Born on April 11, 1970, Mr. Burkiett lived a life full of laughter, loyalty, and hard work. He was an avid lover of guns, camping, the great outdoors, and all things that allowed him to embrace the beauty of nature. His passion for reading and music filled his days, while his devotion to his family filled his heart. His sense of humor, often sarcastic and always sharp, brought joy to all who knew him.
Ken was a great father who shared an incredibly special bond with his children. He was very close to Shannon, who was his "Daddy’s girl." She could talk to him about anything, and he always had great feedback to offer. He loved spending time with his son Ethan, where they would joke around, talk about guns, play games, and he had a particular way of harassing him that always kept their relationship lighthearted and full of love.
Proud of his service in the Navy, Mr. Burkiett carried his military experience with great pride throughout his life, embodying the values of dedication and loyalty. His commitment to his work and his family was unwavering, and his devotion as a husband to Janice was a testament to his character.
Ken is survived by his children, Shannon (Jonathan), Ethan, Cynthia, and Anthony (Amy); grandchildren, Ivy, Jeremiah (Alyssa), Dylan, Daniel, Carly, Christian, and Aubree; great-grandchildren, Gracelynn, Caiden, and Dakota; as well as siblings, Nathan, and Laura.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Burkiett, parents David Burkiett Sr. and Gale Burkiett, and his brother, David Burkiett Jr.
Mr. Burkiett will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to know him.
