Kennedi Mae McNeill, age 10, passed away peacefully in the arms of her amazingly devoted parents, surrounded by love from close family and friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
Kennedi was many things to many people during her time here. She was her twin brother's biggest fan on the sidelines of all his sports. She always entered a room with a beaming light of joy, leaving those in it with a full heart. Kennedi is the pure meaning of beauty and strength. Ladybug showed such grace and resilience fighting battles daily, being a constant reminder of God's work and healing hands. Kennedi was a miracle from day one and will forever be our Angel here on Earth and now forever in Heaven. She loved movement like boat rides and wind blowing across her face. She loved noises like fireworks, loud music playing, and her teacher and nurse singing to her. She loved snuggling with her Daddy, whose mere presence put a smile on her face. The feeling of her family and friends holding her, patting her chest, or giving her manicures gave her such joy.
She was a girl with many hobbies.
She will always be known as the “Sasser Frass” with the best collection of hair bows fit for every occasion.
Kennedi was our MVP playing in the Miracle League, leaving her footprints in the dirt without ever leaving her chair. In the Special Needs Ballet, she dreamed with her feet as she rolled gracefully across the floor. As girly as Sasser can be, the fish still feared her when her line hit the water.
She will forever be known as a fighter, leaving a sprinkle wherever she goes. Little did we know, we needed her way more than she needed us.
She is preceded in death by her Papa, Kim Hammergren; Grandaddy, Rev. Roy W. Hammond; and Pops, Steve McAlpin.
She is survived by her parents, Blake and Amber McNeill; brother, Gavin and Koltin McNeill; grandparents, Peggy Hammergren, Timothy McNeill, Mary McAplin; great-grandfather, Atwood McNeill; aunts and uncles (cousins), Danielle and Joey Parsons (Kaley and Kinsley), Amanda Fitzgerald (Rayna), Ariel and Mike DeCosse (Maeson, Jaxton and Carli), Ashley and Rodney Lagrange (Aiden, Ava, Hunter and Addison), TC McNeill, Joe Hammergren, and Doug and Carrie Dutton (Shelby and Marley). God-sister, Ansley Standridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to one of the following foundations: Special Olympics, Friends of Newton County Miracle League, National CMV Foundation.
"It's that pure heart of gold, and stardust soul, that make her so incredibly beautiful."
