Larry Preston Lee, 79, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully at Piedmont Hospital, Athens, Georgia. He was born September 25, 1940, in Atlanta, GA, to Myrtice (Singleton) and Wilber Lowell Lee, a WWII Veteran. Larry graduated from Murphy High School in Atlanta, GA, in 1960. He married Elizabeth Ann Jessee at Kirkwood Baptist Church, August 21, 1965. She was, and will forever be, the love of his life. After serving in the military, Larry attended Emmanuel Bible College and graduated with a degree in Bible, which he often used when pulpit preaching and mentoring children and young adults. Larry also worked for Dekalb County from which he retired after 30 years. Everyone who knew Larry loved him. He had a curious and infectious love for people and for them to know Christ. Larry was a devoted husband to his "sweet angel," Ann, until she passed away in 2016. He cherished his two children, to whom he was devoted, and adored his four grandchildren. Larry attended Rainbow Park Baptist Church in Decatur, GA, most of his adult life, and then First Baptist of Forest Park, GA, in his later years.

Larry leaves behind his son, Thomas "Tom" L. Lee (Caron); and their daughters, Hannah Lee, Lydia Lee, all of Covington, Georgia; daughter, Deborah Lee Deyton (Tim); and their sons, Jack Deyton, Alex Deyton, all of Taylors, South Carolina. Larry also leaves behind brother, Donald "Donnie" Lee and family, of Madison, Georgia.

Though no public visitation will be available, Mr. Lee will be cared for by Caldwell & Cowan at 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA, 30014. He will be laid to rest at Eastview Cemetery in East Atlanta surround by immediate family only. There will be a memorial service later. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Larry Lee to First Baptist Forest Park Children's Ministry or Mission Forest Park at 634 Main St, Forest Park, GA 30297.
