Leola Marie Slaughter

Leola Marie Slaughter, of Covington, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, at the age of 66. Mrs. Slaughter loved spending time with her husband eating at new places, going to music festivals, and traveling to the mountains. She also enjoyed road trips and thrifting. Mrs. Slaughter was a fierce friend and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Russell; and sister, Lynn Russell.

Survivors include her loving husband, Tony Slaughter; sons, Jerome Montgomery, Cody Montgomery; grandchildren, Cayden Montgomery; and her sister, Lois Hawkins.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Slaughter will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, 12 Noon, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Saturday, two hours prior to her service, from 10:00 A.M. – 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers the family request for donations to be made to Emory University Hospital in Decatur, GA where Mrs. Slaughter was taken such good care of.
