Les Crosby, of Covington, passed away July 16, 2014, at the age of 79. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Les moved to West Palm Beach, Florida when he was 2 years of age. After graduating from Palm Beach High School he served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and then attended the University of Florida, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting. He retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. Les loved Jesus, served as a deacon, and sang in the choir. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. Les played the guitar for over 50 years, but most of all, Les loved his family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Yvonne Czernowski; and parents, Lester Edwin and Lila (Flowers) Crosby.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Crosby of Covington; children and their spouses, Patrice and Gary Keener of Easley, SC, Mike and Nancy Crosby of Orlando, FL, Lester and Elbita Crosby of Columbia, SC, Kerry Knowles of Monroe, GA, Anne and Leroy Blasingame of Covington, Melisa and Pat Ionno of Port St. Lucie, FL, Steve and Elizabeth Knowles of Covington; son-in-law, Pierre Czernowski; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Crosby will be held Friday, July 18, 2014, 2:00 PM, at East Newton Baptist Church, 11290 Highway 278 E, Covington, GA, with Rev. Tom Lee officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Thursday, July 17, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions in his memory may be made the East Newton Baptist Church Music Ministry.
