Lillian C. Long

Lillian C. Long of Oxford passed away August 22, 2013 at Newton Medical Center. She was 89 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Long was a member of Oxford Lions Club, enjoyed going to Chick-fil-A, meeting people, and traveling. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Claud Long; parents, James Boykin and Edna (Dasher) Cullars; sisters, Marie Salter, Sara Dial, Doris Green; and brother, Dewitt Cullars.

Mrs. Long is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Michael Rutledge of Covington; grandchildren, Tracy and Tommy Rape of Oxford, Jackie Rutledge of Porterdale, Leslie and Tommy Thomas of McDonough, Brett and Valerie Rutledge of Monroe; 7 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Long will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Covington Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 24, from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
