Linda Baker Moore

November 27, 1945 — June 24, 2012

Linda Baker Moore, of Covington, passed away June 24, 2012, at the age of 66. Linda was born on November 27, 1945 at her family's home place in North Rockdale County. At eleven years old, Linda became a follower of Jesus Christ and never wavered on that foundation. As a school girl, she distinguished herself as a scholar and was awarded the honor of "Star Student" her senior year at LaGrange High School. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Valdosta State College with a B.A. in English. For years she served her community as a devoted pastor's wife, mother, and teacher. She lived well. She loved lavishly. She filled our world with music and grace. For all who despair that in this life there is no such thing as Truth, no soul that is brave, no path to forgiveness, look at the life of Linda Baker Moore and take heart. Such beauty does exist. Ponder the person that she was and find God's grace, the light of His love and the strength to choose joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Juliatte (Haralson) Baker, niece, Linda Christine Lester, daughter of Hazel and Henry Lester and her niece, Marsha Evelyn Walraven, daughter of Frances and Howard Walraven.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Jim Thorne of Covington; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Walraven of Conyers, Hazel and Henry Lester of Covington; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Frances Baker of Decatur; grandchildren, Jostan Thorne, Jacey Thorne, Jasmine Thorne, Jamie Thorne; several nieces and nephews.
