Linda Merlene Walden

Linda Merlene Walden, of Covington, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the age of 75. Mrs. Walden was a long-time member of Canaan Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending services and sang in the choir. She was an accomplished cook and liked cooking for her family, especially her biscuits which were a family favorite. In her spare time, Mrs. Walden enjoyed frolicking and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She treasured the time spent with family and loved them dearly. Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Inez Cole; sisters, Margaret Shannon; Bobbie Dobbs, and brothers, Bud Cole, Jerry Cole.

Survivors include her loving husband, Tommy Walden; daughters, Kimberly Bartlett, Robin Young (Robbie); Son, Jason (Lauren Taliaferro); grandchildren. Kirk Crawford (Hailey), Nicole Patton (Neal), Jennifer Fox (Dustin), Blake Young (Carissa), Brad Young (Alyssa), Jesse Walden (Ashton), Jacob Walden (Ansley Crumbliss); great-grandchildren, Rory Gonzalez, Baelynn Patton, Darcy Fox, Liam Crawford, Caden Young, Skyler Young, Addison Young; sisters, Mary Scott, Shirley Thompson; brothers, Wilson Cole (Pat), Kenneth Cole, Charles Cole (Beverly); as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Walden will be held Monday, November 13, 2023, 10:30 A.M., at Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, in Covington, with Dr. Scott Caudill and Dr. Billy Ingram officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Saturday, November 11, from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. and then again on Sunday, November 12, from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M.
