Lloyd Madison Lyda, Jr., "Butch", of Oxford, passed away May 19, 2013, at the age of 68. He loved spending time outdoors, and especially enjoyed fishing, camping, rock hunting, and collecting coins. He was loved, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Lloyd was preceded in death by his son, Lloyd "Bo" Lyda; and his parents, Lloyd and Lois (O'Kelley) Lyda.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Amanda (Irwin) Lyda; sons and daughter-in-law, Robbie and Delice Lyda of Webster, FL, Jimmy Lyda of Covington; grandchildren, Corey and Erin Lyda, Tyler, Michael, and Myka Lyda; sister, Evelyn Trimble of Macon; and his niece, nephew, and cousins.
Funeral Services for Lloyd will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013, 3:00 PM, at Covington First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jan McCoy and Pastor Tim Walden officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, Friday, May 24, from 5:00-9:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Lloyd Lyda Memorial Fund at BB&T.
