Floyd StreetLou Emma Wilbanks of Covington, passed away October 7, 2010, at the age of 80. Mrs. Wilbanks was a great friend and neighbor, and was considered by many as the "sweetest lady" they had ever known. She attended Life Point Community Church, in Loganville, and enjoyed quilting, flowers, canning, and making biscuits, but most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilbanks was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Lee Wilbanks; son, Robert Lee Wilbanks; parents, Wallace Oscar and Ellen (Dotson) Dean; brothers, Vernon Kerry Dean, Charles Frederick Dean, and Kenneth Ray Dean. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Lee and David Weathers of Dawsonville, Brenda Thompson of Rutledge, Teresa Gail and Wallace Fowler of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde Ray Wilbanks, Danny Oscar and Kathy Wilbanks, all of Loganville, Wayne and Odessa Wilbanks of Covington; grandchildren, Sherrie, Melisa, Robert, Jerry, Rebecca, Devon, Shane, Johnny, Steven, Kenneth, Samantha, Charles; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lavada Gordon of Monticello, Rosie Barnett of Leesburg, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Horace and Brenda Dean of Covington, Roy Dean of Gray, Bill Dean of Flint, MI. Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilbanks will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010, 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, with Pastor Dewayne Lype officiating, and interment following in New Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 8, from 5-8 PM.
