Louis Sewell of Covington, passed away June 18, 2010, at the age of 70. Mr. Sewell was married twice. His first wife was Dorothy Waller Sewell, with which he raised his two children; and then he was married to the late Linda (Hurt) Sewell, daughter of James and Ilse Hurt. During his 70 years, he managed to gain the love of many. He was an exceptional athlete. Mr. Sewell received a "golden glove", an award given to amateur boxing champions during a tournament that the Chicago Tribune newspaper has sponsored each year since 1923. He was offered a baseball scholarship to the University of Georgia, and later used his knowledge and skills to coach his daughter's softball teams for more than 12 years at Gresham Park, in South Dekalb County. His family still has wonderful memories they shared with their softball families. In addition, he enjoyed music, dancing, singing, cooking, playing games, and just simply spending time with his family. He loved his friends and family dearly. Mr. Sewell was preceded in death by his son, Channing Todd Sewell; and his parents, Clyde Watson and Bessie (Moore) Sewell. Surviving Mr. Sewell is his daughter, Frost Sewell of Destin, FL; and grandson, Cameron Chase Sewell of Orlando, FL; several nieces and nephews.
