Access RoadLouise Tarpley Piper, born October 25, 1913, in Henry County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2012. She led a full and wonderful life of 98 years. She and her husband, Hewlett Piper were married for 64 years prior to his death in 2000. Louise retired from White's Department Store, in Covington, as a seamstress. She remained a faithful member of Julia A. Porter Memorial United Methodist Church and the Harvester Sunday School class as long as her health permitted. She resided at Merryvale Assisted Living, in Oxford, for two years prior to a fall in January 2012, after which she entered Riverside Healthcare. She was preceded in death by brothers, Warren Eugene Tarpley, Grover Tarpley, Jr.; sisters, Grace Christian, Mattie Jo Merritt; and niece, Hariette Christian Nichols.Survivors include her nephew, Warren Bradford and Elizabeth Tarpley of Snellville; nieces, Peggy P. Madden of Oxford, Eileen and Joe George of Lawrenceville, Geneva P. Kirkus of Loganville, Sue and Marion Granade of Conyers, Janet P. Brindle of Alabama; great-nieces, Kathie and Doug White of Covington, Stephanie Tarpley of Lawrenceville; great-nephews, Matthew Tarpley, Joe and Eleanor Clark, Chris and Dana Clark, David and Tracey George; numerous other relatives and friends.Funeral Services for Mrs. Piper will be held Thursday, June 28, 2012, 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Kelly Brisendine officiating, and interment following in Timberridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Highway 20, in McDonough. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, two hours prior to her service, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Julia A.
