Luther "Shotgun" Hailey

Access RoadLuther "Shotgun" Hailey of Oxford, passed away December 8, 2010, at the age of 75. Mr. Hailey served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Sweetheart Plastics, in Conyers. He enjoyed fishing and watching Nascar. Mr. Hailey was preceded in death by his parents, Aquilla Elliott and Ella Ruth (Wheeler) Hailey. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Knight Hailey of Oxford; daughter, Deidre Hewell of Covington; sons and daughter-in-law, Greg Hailey of Oxford, Corry and Rachel Hailey of Covington; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Rutledge of Porterdale, Sara Bone of Monticello; brothers and sister-in-law, W.T. and Margie Hailey of Rutledge, Billy Wayne Hailey of Porterdale; and his dog, C.J. Funeral Services for Mr. Hailey will be held Friday, December 10, 2010, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd., with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, December 9, from 6-8 PM.
