Macel Patterson Lindsey

d. November 8, 2022

Covington

Macel Patterson Lindsey went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 8, 2022, at the age of 95. A lifelong resident of Newton County, Mrs. Lindsey was a member of Porterdale Baptist Church where she taught Children's Sunday School, sang in the Choir and was a member of the Sadie Polson Women on Mission group. Even though in her later years she was unable to attend church in person, she held true to her faith and her Christian beliefs, read her Bible daily and always prayed for her church, family and friends. She worked for White's Department store for many years and retired from C.R. Bard, Inc. after 25 years of service. Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, shopping, reading, doing jigsaw and word puzzles, watching the Hallmark channel and TBN.

Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, James Terrell Lindsey; parents, Zack and Ethel (Elliott) Patterson; brothers, Archie Patterson, Edward Patterson, Carl Patterson, J.B. Patterson, Zack Patterson and Ray Patterson; and sisters, Ruth George and Lora Pittman.

She is survived by and will be forever missed by her daughter, Terri, and her son-in-law, James (Dee) Morris; her sister-in-law, Gail Lindsey and brother-in-law, Jimmy Lindsey, many nieces and nephews; and her two much loved and very special great-nieces, Victoria Long and Ryann Pittman.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Lindsey will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor David Payne officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to her service from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
