Mamie Collins of Covington, passed away January 12, 2014, at the age of 75. Mrs. Collins had a caring heart, always wanted to help others, and made sure to tell those closest to her just how much she loved them. She was an amazing woman, with the will to fight, and courageously fought two battles with cancer and a long fight with heart disease. She loved and cared for her family deeply, and although she will be greatly missed by those who knew her, she is now with her Lord and Savior, her grandson, and all her loved ones who have gone before her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven E. Collins; grandson, Christopher Colwell; parents, Ernest B. and Myrtle (Ward) Christopher; sister, Dorothy McGill; and her brother, Marion H. Christopher.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Debora and Randy Clarke, Tina Collins; son, Anthony Collins, all of Covington; granddaughter, Kimberly A. Atkins; great-grandson, Elijah Bonzo, both of Conyers; brother and sister-in-law, John B. and Charlotte Christopher of Ocala, FL; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Collins will be held at a later date.
