We lay to rest our most wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife, Martha Jean Carter, who went to be with our Savior Jesus Christ on January 26, 2022. Martha’s strength of character and lovingkindness made her the center of gravity in the lives of her family to whom she was unselfishly devoted and she ardently loved. Her thoughtful and generous nature made her beloved by new and old friends alike. “Her absence was like the sky, spread over everything.” Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth & Jeff Milton Thomas; and daughters, Beverly Jean Carter, Kimberly Diana Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Carter; daughters, Robin & Keith McDaniel, Libby & Dennis Tippens, Cindy Strauss; grandchildren, Robert & Alyce McDaniel, Richard McDaniel, Kayla & Casey Pruett, Beverly & Brandon Bacon, Dennis & Brandy Tippens, Sandy Jane Lee McDaniel, Emily Maria McDaniel, Don Dewain McDaniel, Grady James Tippens; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Carter will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, 2:00 P.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington.
This obituary was crafted with love and affection by Mrs. Carter's family.
