Martha K. Hewell

Martha K. Hewell, of Social Circle, passed away on November 8, 2013, at the age of 84. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church where she served as leader of the nursery department for many years. She loved to bowl and watch old game shows, but most of all she loved to watch her grandchildren play baseball and softball. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hewell; grandson, Jake Hewell; granddaughter, Amanda Davenport.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, LaVerne Davenport, Sue and Gary Digby, all of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Corrie and Sandra Hewell of Monticello, Ray and Marilyn Hewell of Covington; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Jean and Benny Puzzo of Lynn, MA, Linda Kitchens of Loganville; brother and sister-in-law, Coleman and Eula Ree Gibbs of Dolphin Island, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hewell will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Payne officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, November 9, from 6 - 8 PM.
