Martha C. Lester

Access RoadMartha C. Lester of Covington, passed away June 16, 2010, at the age of 83. Mrs. Lester enjoyed attending church at Honey Creek Baptist Church, and was a member there for 60 years. She enjoyed going to yard sales, cooking, watching Wheel of Fortune and the Atlanta Braves, but most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lester was a "people person" and loved the company of others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mercer C. Lester; parents, Henry Peek and Mildred (Treadwell) Christian; sons, Ronnie Lester and Henry Waites Lester; and her three sisters. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Joann Smart, Katrina and Roger Self; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Vicky Lester, Gary and Charlene Lester; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Rogers, Ann and Paul Deerman, Virginia and Bill Aaron, Glenda and Fred Lord, all of Covington; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Lester will be held Friday, June 18, 2010, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Rev. Vester Maughon officiating, and interment following in Honey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, June 17, from 6-8 PM.
