Martha Annette Shannon

Martha Annette Shannon of Covington passed away August 20, 2013. She was 88 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Shannon enjoyed gardening, her flowers, shopping, and going out to eat. She loved her family and reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Shannon; granddaughter, Lisa Gail Stone; grandson, Chris Shannon; and parents, George Anderson and Tannie Mae (Brown) Maughon.

Mrs. Shannon is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Alvin Stone of Wedowee, AL, Deborah Montgomery of Covington; sons, Charles Shannon of Loganville, Farron Shannon of Covington; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Stone, Evelyn Henson; brother, Bo Maughon, all of Bostwick.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shannon will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Larry Bennett, and Rev. Gene Bird officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, August 23, from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
