Marthe Evelyne Auguste

Marthe Evelyne Auguste was born on March 8, 1940 in Kenscoff, Haiti. She started visiting the United Stated in 1982, and finally settled in New York City in 2010 after an earthquake in Haiti. In 2017, she moved to Covington GA with her daughter Marie Marthe Kerselyne, and resided there until her passing.

Marthe Evelyne was a true believer of Maitre 3 Roses En Fer. A hard worker and an enthusiastic entrepreneur, she cherished her boutique shop which she managed for many years. She was a devoted mother; when she was 39 years old, her beloved husband Joseph Kesner Auguste passed away, leaving her with 10 children to care for as a widow. Her resolve and devotion to her children became stronger than ever at this time, and she dedicated all her time to caring for her children. Her focus was solely their wellbeing and their education .

 While living in Port au Prince, Haiti, Marthe Evelyne was loved by everyone in her neighborhood. Her door and kitchen were always open, and she had a hand in raising many children that she did not birth. Even after she left Haiti permanently, the neighborhood children, now adults, would reach out to her for conversation and guidance, and affectionately called her “Mommy Kes”. 

In her spare time, Marthe enjoyed listening to cultural music and cooking for her family. She loved international travel; especially cruising to various destinations with her son Carlo, visiting her son Valerio in Mexico, and visiting her sister Leone in Canada. But most of all, she treasured the time spent with her family particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. 

On November 12, 2024, at the age of 84, Marthe Evelyn peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her beloved family.

 Marthe was preceded in death by her father Lucien Bruno, her mother Macilia Pierre and her husband Joseph Kesner Auguste. She is survived by her 10 children, Jean Marie Racine Auguste, Marie Marthe Soline Auguste, Ramces Bruno Auguste, Carlo Auguste, Valerio Auguste, Marie Marthe Kerselyne Auguste, Alerte Bruno Auguste, Junior Augustin Auguste, Marie Darling Finance Auguste, Marie Rosy Kesner Auguste, her sister Marie Gislaine Pierre, her brother Lucien Joseph Elder Bruno; 29 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and extended family and loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
