Marvin T. Pressley of Covington, passed away November 15, 2011 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. He was 70 years old at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Zelvia (Bishop) Pressley. Mr. Pressley enjoyed hot rod cars, drag racing, fishing, and mechanical work. He was a selfless man who had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone. He loved driving a loader and going to the mountains. Mr. Pressley was a member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family.
Mr. Pressley is survived by his wife Rita Wycoff Pressley of Covington; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Mark Rachels of Conyers, Tonya and Brian Tardif of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Melanie Cagle of Covington, Lonny Cagle of Eatonton, GA; "sister and brother-in-law", Opal and Danny Stines of Rutherfordton, NC; brothers and sister-in-law, David Pressley of Rutherfordton, NC, Roy and Florence Pressley of Mills River, NC; grandchildren, Linton Flowers, Lance Flowers, Lee Flowers, Jessica Tanner, Matthew Fuller, Mariah Cagle, Zachary Rachels, Jeremy Rachels, DeWayne Cagle; great-granchildren, Abbigail Flowers, Annisten Flowers, Ella Kay Paulsen, Will Tanner, Preston Tanner, Payton Tanner.
Funeral Services for Mr. Pressley will be at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, November 18, from 6 - 8 P.M.
