Mary Ellen (Corry) Alexander

Mary Ellen (Corry) Alexander of Covington, passed away January 5, 2011, at the age of 101. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, flowers, and gardening. She taught school for a total of 43 years, with the majority at Livingston Elementary, teaching 2nd grade.  She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Paul Alexander; parents, Walter B. and Cleo C. Corry; sisters, Anne B. Corry, Dorothy C. Lumus; brothers, James C. Corry, Sr. and Claud B. Corry. Survivors include her sister, Janie Corry Martin; nephews, James C. Corry, L.A. (Bill) Corry, Dr. William Lumus, Dr. Dan Martin, Mike Martin; numerous great-nieces and nephews, many great-great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great-great niece. Funeral Services for Mrs. Alexander will be held Saturday, January 8, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, with Rev. David Rogers officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday, from 1-2 PM.
