Mary I. Allen of Covington passed away May 24, 2016, at the age of 70. Mary was born and raised in Porterdale, Georgia, and she was a member of Honey Creek Baptist Church in Conyers. A member of the Red Hat Society, she enjoyed shopping and doing arts and crafts. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry O'Neil Allen; parents, Benny and Mary Penn; and sisters, Marsha Johnson, Linda Mangham.

Survivors include her son, James Allen of Oxford; great-aunt, Ann Lawless of Covington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Allen will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street in Covington, with Pastor Mack Goss and Rev. Vester Maughon officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are welcome to join the family for visitation at the funeral home Wednesday, May 25, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
