Mary King of Monticello, passed away August 1, 2016, at the age of 80. A devout Christian lady, Mrs. King cherished her Bible and faithfully attended church when able. She had a servant's heart, never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. When she was younger, Mrs. King enjoyed camping and fishing. She adored her family, treasured the time she spent with them and enjoyed cooking for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Reeves Haralson; second husband, James C. King; sons, David Haralson, Dean Haralson; parents, Emory and Bertha Robinson Skelton; sister, Ina Smith; and her brothers, Bud Skelton, Ed Skelton and Jimmy Skelton.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Derrick and Tonya Haralson of Monticello; daughter, Amy Dempsey; grandchildren, Jared Haralson, Hannah Haralson, Moriah Haralson, David Dempsey, Michael Dempsey, Jason Dempsey; great-grandchildren, Conway Crawford, Carter Dempsey; sister, Linda Allen of Monticello; daughters-in-law, Lynn Haralson, Monteia Haralson; special friend, Keith (Phil) Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. King will be held Sunday, August 7, 2016, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Paul Frevele officiating and interment following in Social Circle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, prior to her service, from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
