Mary Lunsford

Mary Lunsford, of Covington, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the age of 95. Mrs. Lunsford was a member of the First Methodist Church, in Covington, where she was the Sunday School pianist for years. She was also a member of a bridge club and was the resident pianist at Merryvale for 10 years. Mrs. Lunsford was preceded in death by her first husband, Neal Banks; second husband, W.K. Lunsford; as well as grandson and spouse, Bill and Leigh Rutledge.

Survivors include her children, Becky Rutledge (JW), Marty Harrington (Lynn), John Banks, III; grandchildren, Christie Annis (Jesse), Mandy Blackwell (Daniel), Kim Elmore (Jerry), Ashley Linpinsell (Billy); great-grandchildren, Anna Annis, Blakely Blackwell, Josie Blackwell, Ruby Blackwell, William Rutledge (Cassidy), River Rutledge (Savannah), Nancy Rutledge (Chase), Alma Linpinsell, James Elmore, Jerry Elmore; sister, June Savage; as well as nieces and nephews, Bill Womack, Richard Womack, Lynn Hinshaw.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Lunsford will be held Monday, July 10, 2023, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Steve Aldridge officiating and interment following in Covington City Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Monday, one hour prior to her service, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Merryvale Assisted Living family.
