Mary Claire Whitmer

Mary Claire Whitmer, a resident of Redan for 45 years, passed away September 21, 2013 at the age of 79. She loved her family dearly and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whitmer was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Donald Lee Whitmer.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Tony Burnett of McDonough; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Lee and Debbie Whitmer of Redan, Kenneth Whitmer of McDonough, Bobby and Kathy Whitmer of Lilburn, David Whitmer, Darren and Lynn Whitmer, all of McDonough, Danny Ray and Sarah Beth Whitmer of Covington; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Whitmer will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Dr. David Moody officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, September 23, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
